GTX 1080 @ 96% Usage help

So I play a lot of gaming like fifa, maddden, call of duty, battlefield, tomb raider.  I play them on my led tv as I don’t have a gaming monitor.  All resolution is 1920 x1080.  In all my games I have it on the highest graphic setting and v-sync on (or I getting a lot of tearing on my tv).  My CPU usage is under 50% and GPU under 50-60%.  When I run my games on 4K on my other 4K tv my FPS is 30 and GPU usage is at 98%, which I understand since it rendering more details.

 

Now I have never play Assassin’s creed games and bought Assassins Creed Odyssey.  The games is beautiful but my GPU usage in the game is 96% at 60FPS 1920x1080 @62c and in my graphic card ram says 4gb used out 8GB in the game menu, my CPU is at 35% @ 52c I don’t know what if that’s normal.  Please let me know .

performance doesnt seem to be out of the ordinary. Assasins creed oddesey is known to be quite taxing. mostly on the CPU though. 

 

afaik the GPU should be running around 90%, other than that it seems to be fine

The only game that is taxing my CPU is GTA, but Assasin Creed is only game that uses alloy if my GPU

2% utilization isn't really anything to worry about if you're still getting the performance you want. And it's up in the air what GPU utilization really means since a GPU core has many sub-units in it and some of them are specialized, meaning they may not be used as often. Is utilization counting up all of those GPU resources being used? I dunno.

 

Anyway, this isn't something I'd lose sleep over. Even if you translated utilization % to FPS, you'd only gain like 2 FPS if you got it to 100%.

My question is I’ve never got 100% or anywhere near 90% usage in GPU until I played this game, and didn’t know if that’s bad.

No, that's not bad. 100% GPU utilization is the goal if you're trying to push as many frames as possible. If it's significantly less, the GPU isn't going to be producing as many frames per second as it could.

Oh ok lol I was thinking the low the usage was good, cause I reading about bottleneck and was talking about high usage bottlenecking
