Worth getting a Ryzen 9 for gaming + streaming?

kriptcs

Hey guys, with the leaks of the Ryzen 3000, I am super sure I want a cpu from that lineup, since I play cpu intensive titles and my current cpu does not stack up so well against them..

Question is, Is it worth getting the Ryzen 9 for gaming and streaming? I

heard it's meant to compete with the i9, therefore not being directed towards gaming. But if I have the budget, will it give me more bang for the buck compared to a Ryzen 7?

At its current state... The Ryzen 9 is just a rumor. In theory... if that chip came out as well as the rumors claim, it would be an absolute monster of a CPU. More than enough for gaming/streaming. I think more realistically, you would only need a Ryzen 7 3700X, and even that would be overkill. I think you should wait and see an post this question again when the CPU's actually launch. It is hard to find basis in fact when the CPU's don't officially exist.

well, those rumors are still rumors. We all don't know what to expect untill CES. Just wait and see what they actually have

I personally don't think the Ryzen 9 will be real, seems a little silly and it'll cannibalize the HEDT product stack a mere 2 generations in.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

^^^ This. Considering the R7 2700X is already great for streaming (or the R5 2600 for that matter), the new Ryzens should be even better so we can assume they'll be great for streaming/gaming as well.

It's pointless to start thinking about which CPU you're going to buy when all you've got is speculation on the specs in the first place. Hang on to your damn britches and wait until the specs have been confirmed.
