i7 7820X + Rampage VI extreme Problems

Hello guys.Need your help with my new build. My PC freezes (screen completely frozen with a still image on screen) when I overlock something, CPU or RAM .  I overlock it by extreme tweaker (asus utility). So when i put XMP profile, my pc freezes while 2-3 hours gaming randomly. When I overlock my CPU, my pc freezes immediately.. only restart helps. The display on the motherboard also freezes Also GHZ on CPU unstable too. While on desktop GHZ jumps from 1.1 to 4.1 ghz every second, while gaming from 3.7 to 4.1. I already put a maximum performance in windows settings and tried turning on/off  C-states function (power-saving feature).CPU temps are fine.
My PC specs:
CPU:i7 7820x
Motherboard:Rampage VI Extreme
GPU:EVGA 1080Ti FTW3
RAM:HyperX 16gb(2x8) 4000mhz RGB
PSU:EVGA 1000W G3
Water Cooling:Corsair H115i PRO 280Mmm
SSD:Samsung 970EVO 512gb
HDD:WD gold 2TB
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II

What temps do you get under what load? Varying clock is normal unless you disable all power saving features.

Your mobo bios is two versions out of date, try updating to latest. Try something like hwinfo64 and check if you're hitting other limiters, like power or current.

Do the stability problems go away if the ram is NOT set to XMP? 4000 is pretty tough.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

I will update BIOS tomorrow, but i don't think that this problem about bios version. Because I already updated on September and still had these problems. Max temps while gaming was 60. I already tried 3600mhz too.. but nothing :( .. actually my motherboard supports up to 4200mhz + OC . Does hwinfo64 will save results while PC freeze? Because i don't know how to check results if PC freezes immediately after CPU OC

I was thinking about setting ram to 2133 or 2400. I know, it sucks to run like that if you bought 4000, but this is just to rule out the ram for good and if it doesn't help, you can put it up again.

Also, I'm not familiar with the Asus tweaker. Try Intel XTU instead?

Actually now I am using PC without XMP. 2133 mhz.. but its strange that i cant use XMP. This PC is monster and i wanna use it on full power + XMP increase in some game 15-20 fps. Also, I want to OC my CPU but can't find the answer, why PC freezes immediately when I OC it :(

Does it fix your stability problems? Let's get things working stably first, before thinking about turning it up.

As I said, I'm not familiar with the Asus tool, but have used Intel XTU to overclock in Windows. What do you change when you overclock? Move the clock up small steps? If that doesn't get your far, a bit of a voltage bump? Use monitoring tools to check the change you are expecting is happening. Things can get scary fast if you leave things on auto, as you can end up with a combo of fixed and offset voltages stacking up high.

1. No, I still have problems with stability. Actually, when I overclocked CPU ghz was around 4.1-4.4 ghz (in games too). I see some CPU OC results on youtube and people get stable ghz all the time.
2.No I didn't use XTU to overclock. I used asus utility.. because my overclock knowledge 0 :D and asus utility doing all things for you.
3. Actually, how I said, I have 0 knowledge about OC and can't understand monitoring results very well. I can check it tomorrow and share results here (just say which program please :D). I can test it while OC, but I don't know how to test it while gaming ( because how I said PC freezes immediately ) If the program will save results after the restart, maybe when we can find what went wrong while the game launch.

p.s. Sorry for my bad English :(

Let's check some stuff first:

If you run ram at low speed, and don't overclock CPU at all, is the system stable? That is, no crashes. Don't worry about CPU speeds for now.

If you run hwinfo64 on the monitoring page, look for the section that has stuff like the above. Look if any things are "yes" as that mean there is some limiting going on. Max Turbo Limit and Turbo Attenuation are normal for stock operation. If you see the lines with ICC that's current limiting, the ones with PL1, PL2 etc, that's power limiting. We can relax those limits if needed.

I can't advise on the Asus utility as I've never used it. Obviously it isn't working for you if it causes instant crashes.

I am not sure how good the ASUS OC tool is (maybe someone else can advise here), but I have seen tools that help you configure OC from other vendors that push higher amounts of voltage than should be required. May be worth taking the time to perform some manual OC'ing. Gigabytes EasyTune tool makes my 7820x instantly unstable. It'll usually boot but wont last long.
