Motherboard lga1366 dead ;,(

Couple days ago my PC rebooted with black screen while I was playing, had to power it down from the PSU and after that it didn't power on.

Did paperclip test on PSU, each ram and the CPU if it was burnt so I presume it's the mobo? Kept getting glowing red light from my Asus Rampage 3 Extreme.

This was prebuilt PC 4.2ghz from 2010 , checking on same mobo it's about $300 :'( or would it be wiser to get new hardware instead? Have budget $400.

Not sure which cpu you were using but even a 2200G is probably faster today. So yeah, I'd say you sell everything that still works and can't be reused and then go for a new lower end Ryzen build. Maybe a used R5 1600.

Edit: oh and welcome to the forums!

Ya dude problem is those ASUS boards are out of whack expensive,, Mine sells for 300 dollars on ebay.  Don't get the same POS old ass mobo.  Upgrade your system.  Get a 200 to 250 dollar mobo and a 8700k both for under 600 dollars.  Then only thing left is the DDR4 RAM.  I suggest a 16GB kit which is under 200 bucks.  Let us know

The Ryzen destroys it.

For $400 you can easily build yourself a used Ryzen Build.

I'd suggest you browse Craigslist (or your countries equivalent) for a 1600/X or even 1700X (I got myself a used 1700X for just 150€!)

Aswell as a B350 or X370 motherboard of literally any kind (maybe like 100€ and you'll already have yourself a good, used one.) and then 16gb ram with 3000mhz or higher for another 120€, totalling out at roughly $400.

If you are lucky you might also score a small ssd for your OS to speed your system up A LOT. Even Samsungs 860 EVO can be found for under $50 for 250gb.nice addition.
