Is it possible to replace a laptop motherboard with a motherboard from a different model-brand?

I have a dell e6410 witch I really like, but it's getting old. What I want is to replace the mobo with one from a newer system, since I really like this dells build quality and looks in general. Is this possible and what should I be aware of if I try  to do this?

No. Laptop OEMs do not comply to any standards for motherboard shapes and sizes like desktops with ATX and ITX. If you want to upgrade your laptop, your only option is anything that isn't soldered. You could technically replace soldered stuff, but it's apparently really hard.

Just save to buy a brand new Dell laptop with up-to-date hardware.

 

laptops aren't meant to be upgraded like DIY desktops.
