i5 9600k

Dolan106

So im going to upgrade my cpu (i5 6400) because it is getting bottlenecked by my 1060 6gb and i was planning on getting a i5 9600k and iv heard that the cheap mobos (z390) are not good and i don't have a lot of money to spend on a mobo because in Finland 9600k cost's 299€ and 16gb ram around 160€, so which mobo should i get?            Thanks in advance!         (Anyone saying 9600k will be way to good for my 1060, Im going to upgrade my gpu later.)

That is not how you measure bottlenecks. For all we know you may have a bad/slower chip in your graphics card. That CPU should be fine in terms that it is afaik impossible for the CPU to cause frame drops due to VRAM usage. What are your CPU and graphics card usages in games that you play?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

R5 2600 doesn't really need a very good MB to handle the power it needed.
I think anything with B450 chipset is enough.
Also I can recommend MSI B450 PC Mate if you want the best value board.

You can download MSI Afterburner and set up OSD .

More headroom when needing the RAM.  Windows 10 takes up ~2gb+.  When I have Win 10, a browser, and any new game open Im usually at 7.1gb of usage.  If I open a few more tabs, monitoring software etc - I go over 8gb.  I prefer the headroom.

When I built my Ryzen system I had 8gb...no issues.  Upgraded to 16gb...no improvement - but I prefer it for when I need it.  And going forward you will only need MORE ram, based on year on year gaming requirements.

also, this is pretty well known in the pc community, that ryzen chips perform better when they are paired with higher clocked ram. The standard for ryzen is 3000mhz, and the lowest I think someone should go is 2666mhz if they absolutely have to.
