Microsoft has re-released the update. All known issues related to data loss has been fixed.

That said, always make a backup, make sure all your drivers are fully updated  before upgrade (this includes: Audio, printer, keyboard, mouse, chipset, extra SATA controllers, etc). Make sure your security software solutions are fully updated, or uninstall them (beside Windows built-in ones).

I updated yesterday and everything seems to be fine. YMMV though.

How so? 1809 is required for DXR but DXR isn't enabled by default, and you don't have to enable it....
