GPU Fails Under Load

I bought a brand new EVGA GTX 1050 from amazon, (replacing my old HD 5970).

It took me awhile to get drivers on it because of other issues that I have solved. In the end, I did a system reset. 

It works like normal now except when under load. I can't play games; I can't even run Kombustor (stress test it).

 

-The screen will cut to black, or a solid color (Green, pink, cyan, etc.). Although I can still hear sound/video playing.

-I've tried DDU a couple of times, reinstalling the drivers.

-Occasionally DDU will work, and I can play games and stress test it again, until hours later when I turn off the game.

 

Could the card be a faulty one? or is it a driver issue? I don't have another PC to test it on.

When u say u did a system reset do u mean u reinstalled a fresh version of Windows?

what if you blast the fans to 100%? Does that gain any stability?

Actually no. On windows 10:

Windows > Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Reset this PC

Doesn't do anything. I've messed with GPU settings from lowering all clocks to increasing. Those settings don't seem to help.

Can u try the card in a different system?  To me it does sound like a driver problem because as u said DDU sometimes works.

Currently, I don't have another PC to try it in. I might as well have return it and get another one. Since it doesn't seem this problem is very common.
