Questions about replacing my CV axle

So I need to replace my drivers side CV boot on my WRX, but im just gonna go all the way and do the whole axle (in case damage was done. There have been at least 1000 miles put on it since the issue, maybe more. (From before I purchased it).

 

Will I be fine if I just do the drivers side or do I need to do both to keep everything happy?

I don't think it should be a problem. I've seen people only replace the busted ones all the time.
