Thoughts on Micro Center PowerSpec PSUs?

orbitalbuzzsaw

Whenever I go to Micro Center I see their in-house brand PowerSpec PSUs. They look half decent but I can only find reviews for one of the units - the 850W 80+ Gold modular one . It looks like it's not complete garbage but does anyone know more or can anyone else find more reviews?

The gold ones are pretty great; less than 1% load regulation on +12V, 1.7% on +5V, small deviation and very low ripple, modern topology and durable capacitors. It's also pretty quiet and has lots of features. The fan's quality and protections are unknown though, so I'd wait for a test on TechPowerUP or Tom's Hardware.

The series of 80+ Bronze PowerSpec PS-550BF and other wattages is pretty bad, as it uses the High Power Element Smart platform which proved to perform particularly poor.
