As long as you don't put a lot of weight on the case it shouldn't be a problem. Doesn't sound very comfortable though

Foot odor will not kill a PC but it will make a PC really, really cranky.

if you have sweaty feet the sweat could get on the componets killing them, also there is a chance that you may that the case fans will blow stinky air at you

Oh course put your feet on it, That's the sole reason my 98 games machine is under the edge of my desk.

Might I suggest an ottoman. I have one with storage in it, comes in handy.
