Building new PC, help!!!

Perfect, so would this kind of be the best it can get for this price then? Pretty much £750 exactly, the list doesn't give the price of the cooler though (£25 on CCL) and Windows 10 for like another £25-30 on Kinguin

looking good, and you're right on budget!

So I'm looking to build a new PC as I'm getting back into gaming but I've been a bit out of touch with hardware and components as of recent as I've been at college. I've heard good things about certain things and bad about others and so on and so forth, but I don't really have a great knowledge as of yet. I was hoping someone would be able to help me choose components for a build that meets my 'requirements'?

So my budget is around £600 - £750 (Inc. Windows 10) and I'd like to be able to play most modern titles at 1080p 60fps+ ideally. Everything cranked up to mega ultra settings isn't really a priority, but if the games can look nice that's always a plus :P. I play games like GTA5, Arma 3, PUBG, etc. I also do audio production so I need something that's quiet but has good cooling. In terms of storage I'm looking for something like a 3TB HDD, I'm not too bothered about SSD storage. My only other preferences for the PC is an mATX case as I only have so much desk room.

Hopefully someone could help, it'd be much appreciated.

This is the lowest I'd go for solid performance. why is uk stuff so expensive even though the currency is worth more ;-;

add 30 for Kinguin Windows 10.

If this is truly stretching the budget, go for a Ryzen 3 1200 so you have a solid upgrade path in the future.

NOBODY BETTER SUGGEST AN i5

You will find the top of the line video cards are all being taken for cryptocurrency mining, so the prices are rather badly inflated. Perhaps a GTX 970 would do.

There are many coolers out there that are quiet (low decibel range, not dead silent) but to be honest, I've never had issues with even stock coolers and noise. Water cooling is an option, but possibly above your comfort level in installing?

As far as CPU goes, any quad core i5/i7 will be plenty for your needs.

Sorry about that, I was writing the post when the other person posted theirs.

For the record, I have no issues with my core i5 and gaming, but YMMV almost certainly.

The 7600k isn't too bad of value.... granted, its motherboard is more expensive for overclocking but it will still beat a R5 1600 at gaming anyway....

but it doesn't have a future upgrade path as good as AM4. also at non-gaming tasks the Ryzen had 2x the threads...

Would something like 2 of these be okay? It'd still be 8GB and cheaper than the 1 stick of 8 in the og list? I understand it's at a slower clock speed but I remember Linus did a video a while ago about clock speeds and it wasn't that big of a difference in terms of performance inbetween each clock speed?

Ryzen is different, it is affected hugely by the clock speed of RAM. By going from 2133Mhz to 3000Mhz there can be as much as 20-25% performance increase.

So the extra money is well worth it then?

yes, picking up RAM around 2666Mhz-3000Mhz will definitely be worth it, any higher than that, the extra premium isn't worth it anymore.

I've put this together for you; It has quite a good CPU cooler, only for the fact that it is very quiet under load (which was a point of concern for you). It is also in a M-ATX form factor and includes the cost of windows 10...

What would be a good comparison for the 1050 to the 900 series? Or the previous generation AMD cards for that matter too?

with intel ram speed doesn't make huge difference. for ryzen due to its infinity fabric, faster ram helps boost performance.
