Razer Blade Stealth 2017 Overheating

My razer blade stealth 2017 feels pretty hot to the touch. This is my first ultrabook so is it normal for it to reach these temperatures/what is considered "normal" temp? Any help on how I can reduce the heat? In the beginning of the test I ran a game and the rest of it is just using YouTube. Do you recommend sending it to Razer so they can check it out or fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

From what I've heard they run hot in general, as the case with any thin laptop. If you think it's abnormally warm though then I'd RMA it, better to have them tell ya "no it's just a toaster" rather than have it set your lap on fire.

You shouldn't be running games on a thin-and-light with a dual core.  What did you think was going to happen?

the left side of the keyboard around the power button is where there most of the heat is. according to the intel tuning utility just watching videos its at 55-60 C and when i ran a CPU stress test the temps were around 100 C.

I've never owned a Razer product but I'd ETA no quicker than a week but no longer than a month, based off RMA's I've done through other companies.

I have no idea what it should be, but that sounds very hot, especially the idle temps.

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

Is it a 6th gen or a 7th gen CPU?  Also, what resolution are you watching videos at?

its a razer product. they properly hired a squirrel to do the thermal engineering.

How much bloatware do you have running in the background? That is probably 1/2 the problem.  The other 1/2 is just it being a Razer product.

firstly, the temps in the picture are very cool. Secondly, most of them will hit 90's Celsius when under load. this is normal for these devices. In fact the majority of them thermal throttle brand new from the factory due to the temps. According to all my customers, razer tells them " if it doesnt get so hot that it shuts off, then its normal". Of course, lower temperatures are always better, but even with a good repaste on these they will still hit 90c under load.

Thin and light laptops usually run very warm. You can do a repaste, reseat the cooler and undervolt the CPU to try to get it cooler, but realistically, it’s going to stay warm.

So as long as it’s not overly warm to the point of thermal throttling, I’d say you should be fine though as always, try to go as low as you can. Always best to give it more headroom between current temps and TJ Max.

Try re-pasting and undervolt CPU. But beyond that, Razer's laptops' thermal performance is known to not be so good unfortunately...

implying any thermal engineering was done at all. they found the hot thing. threw a few pipes and a fan at it and went home.
