AOC ag251fz vs Asus pg258q (does G-Sync matters?)

mikaskylark

as the title says

I'm planing on buying a new monitor this 4th quartal

I'm stuck between choosing AOC ag251fz and Asus pg258q, aoc got freesync and asus got gsync

the thing is if I decide to buy the asus one, I need to save up to 3/4 more month (maybe i'll finally able to buy it on january), If I decide to buy AOC one, I can buy it next october, no need to save up..

my rig

i7 7700k

gtx 1080ti

16 gig of ram

850w psu

so I want you guys' suggestion on which one should I buy, does the gsync worth the price considering both has 240hz refresh rate?

thanks in advance

Your panel is refreshing 240 times, let's just say that's a lot. And unless you're playing CS or overwatch that exceddes 240fps you won't experience much tear

Personally speaking FastSync has render G-Sync pointless.

Fastsync has some input lag and it's annoying to play CS with. You can definitely feel it. I tried turning it on and everything feels like it had mouse acceleration ?

Then again I meant single player campaigns, you shouldn't play CS:GO with any sort of sync xD

Some sort of sync like vsync except supposedly less input lag. I still feel it personally. If you have a 1080 rn you can go try it yourself in the Nvidia control panel>manage 3d settings>vertical sync> fast
