Not installing Linux on all the macs...

So I've been trying to get Linux on my 2006 Macbook Pro.

Just in case you're wondering which one, it's the 2006 Core 2 Duo model.

This one, so it has a 64 bit CPU, but a 32 bit EFI, so yeah, that kind of limits you to what version of an OS you can use.

So I decided to go with 32 bit Linux.  I've tried both Xubuntu and Ubuntu.  (At this point, I don't give a shit which one I use).

I've tried several different methods on making a bootable USB.  UNETbootin, which is usually tried and true, not working.

I've tried using Terminal... not working.

I've tried using terminal along with this "USB boot maker."  Once it gets to the mounting process for the flash drive, it just says, "fuck you kaiju_wars!"

Here's what I get every time I've tried to boot from the flash drive.

I don't know what to do from here...

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

have you checked to see if the hard drive is doing ok

Yeah, it's doing just fine... but the hard drive acting up shouldn't stop the laptop from booting off a USB.
