Posted June 27, 2017 I'm deciding between the 2 atm. Found these at a great price at Costco, the LG 27UD58-B(4k) is around 370$ (after tax) and the LG 34UM61-P (1080p ultrawide) is around 305$ (after tax). I'm mainly using the monitor to watch videos and play some games (haven't decided if to become main display) and hooking my switch to, so 4k not really necessary. Of course there's a better monitor with vesa mount around 30in let me know ? Either you're master race or you're not.
 Posted June 27, 2017 34" Full HD? "Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas -Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks). Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later Spoiler My head on 2019 : Note 10, S10, Samsung becomes Apple, Zen 2, 3700X, Renegade X lol
 It's the resolution that matters so yeah, that statement is correct but the larger screen part is irrelevant. 1080p is always going to be easier to run than 4k. 3 hours ago, killerdann12 said: Oops forgot to put which one was which. The 34" is ultrawide 1080p 27" is 4k 16:9 1080p at that size isn't bad and is fine especially for gaming and movies. It starts to become less fine for productivity work but I'd only recommend against it if you do a lot of work with text and stuff. However, because you are mainly going to be using it for gaming and movies, I recommend getting the 4k. Even if you know your PC can't play games at 4k, I'd be worth it to play games at 1080p but be able to have 4k for everything else.
