I have this client who is proper hung up on the idea of "if it costs more than it will perform better" so he came up with this, he recently discovered pc part picker

i dont really know why he built it here before asking me my opinions seeing as he is indeed a client of mine... but hey ho!

he decided he needs 2 1080's and an 1800x, he wants that cooler because and i quote "it looks cool doesn't it?" 

just wanted to see your guys opinions on this build, im gonna do some tweaking and get back to him but otherwise, take a crack :)

I'm going to ask the obvious: what is it going to be used for?

What's it used for?

ill edit main post, he has literally said that he wants to do 3d rendering, not because he needs it for a college course or anything but because he wants a new hobby

I mean a lot of 3D applications are quite single threaded so Ryzen might not be a good option...

we are from the uk and i get the feeling he fancies a cheeky bit of crypto currency mining but it's slightly illegal here from what i understand 

but yes i agree there, he seems hung up on high core count, worst comes to worst he gets a 6800/6850/6900 i will not let him get a 6950

He's spending that much and only getting 16gb of ram? And only a single hdd?

Split that up into 3 2TB drives in raid 10 and get him 32GB or ram ;)

i told him that he doesnt need that hardware and he has now decided on a 6900k for the clock speed plus core count, im not even gonna tempt him with x299 because i just want to get my money and leave him happy with his pc
