Not sure which to upgrade to a 1060, 980, or 780

234350_1454181772

Ok so i am in the process of upgrading my pc. I currently have a gtx 660 paired with an i5 4670. These are the 3 cards i have been considering but just have no idea on which will be better in terms performance. Its mostly between ths 1060 and 980, but the 780 would leave me with money to make other upgrades.

$250 Asus turbo 1060

$220 factory refurbed referance 980

$160 Zotac refubed 780

1060 will preform the best, 780 is probably the best value but im not that sure how it stacks up now tbh.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

1060 is blower as well.  I'd get the 980.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Since both the 980 and the 1060 are blower cards, get the 980. It's better

The 980 will be better if you overclock it, but the 1060 has more VRAM and it's an aftermarket one, so it's up to you :D

Blower aftermarket

980 wouldn't do much better than a 1060, plus the 1060 will be supported longer and has more vRAM. Go with the 1060.

Yep, edited my post. I confused the 1060 turbo with the dual :/

GTX 1060. The 980 is a reference card and that 780 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced for the piece of garbage it is today.

I vote for the 980.  probably best performance of the 3.  If you really want to save money, the 780 will be good too.
