Cannot connect to 5G wifi network

Hello

 

I have a problem with my 5G internet.

We have a dualband router and i have a dualband usb wifi adapter (D-Link ac1900 usb wifi adapter).

I can connect to the 5G network with other devices. Its like i cant use a usb wifi adapter anymore. I have also tryed installing the adapter on other computers but with same problem. This is strange to me becouse i have been connected to the 5G network before, and then sudently it went down.

 

Things i have tried:

- Move my pc next to the router

- Using the troubleshooting tool

- Uninstalled/reinstalled drivers

- Restarting the router

- Resetting the router

- Restarting computer

- Give my pc static ip address

- Windows 10 clean installation

- Tried a diffrend usb wifi adapter

- Changing the channel of the 5G network

- Installing the usb wifi adapter on another windows 10 pc

 

Sometimes i get bluescreen telling me something about D_rtwlanu.sys.

 

Useing Google Translate to translate what the bluescreen says in english:

How far away from the router is your computer? 5Ghz is for performance and not distance. Use 2.4Ghz instead.

 

Also most of us can't read that bluescreen as it's not in English.

I have tried to move my pc next to the router and that did not work. I knew that it was not going to work becouse i have been able to have a very good connection to the router with my adapter since we got the internet. This problem happend from one day to another.

To answer your question, it's about 5 meters to the router, and there are some walls in between.

I have been able to install Windows 7 and try installing the adapter. it works lke a charm, but i still dont know why it will not work on Windows 10 when the WiFi Adapter supports Windows 10.

Could be an issue with the Windows 10 driver. Did you use the MS supplied driver or the one from the manufacture?

I have used the one from the manufacture. And tried older and newer versions.

I still have this problem with my wifi adapter on Windows 10, and i just can't figure out how i can get it to work. if you have anything i can try please tell me.

From everything I've heard, Win10 does not do well with Wifi. No idea why, I just stick with 7, MacOS, or Ubuntu.
