Just got a call from my brother, his week old S8+ screen had cracked.

Thank god I've got an extra at the office. 

 

What case are you guys using?

His case is an otter box.

Mine is a pelican.

Otterbox Defender does not come with a screen protector anymore. They offer the alpha glass as a thing, but it's an additional 50 USD and apparently garbage.

 

Desktop: 7800x3d @ stock, 64gb ddr4 @ 6000, 3080Ti, x670 Asus Strix

Yeah, I don't like screen protectors at all.

 

They put these raised bumpers around the curved edge of the screen for most of the cases i've seen. but unless the surface you drop it on is perfectly flat they won't help.

This is why i dont think edge displays will ever become standard. Durability matters on something you handle countless times every day.
