Help With Monitor Selection

Hey Guys, So I am building my first PC and need some help with monitor selection. I plan on running a GeForce GTX 1070 as my GPU, for a gaming/all around purpose. I don't have the budget to go big with my monitors however, as I would like a dual monitor setup. SO I have to choose, between a higher resolution monitor, or a monitor with Gsync. But I don't know which would be more beneficial for a casual gaming setup. The last thing I want is tearing on a 4k monitor I dumped a ton of money into but cant play even basic games. Any help or opinion would be great. Thanks!
