I need... Windows Movie Maker

Hey

 

Can someone point me to a place where I can download Windows Movie Maker?

Whenever I try to search for it I only end up at dead ends or versions where they beg you to pay or register for the "full version" or whatever.

 

If you can't find it either; would you please recommend me something very similar and for a casual? I can't be bothered to install a cracked Sony Vegas 13...

It's been discontinued sorry.... You can't download it anymore from Microsoft....

Unfortunately, WMM support ended in 2012(?) and thus isn't supported nor offered by Microsoft.

It's installed through the "windows live essentials" package.

You can't download it from microsoft anymore.

I found the install on my Hard disk., (yes i still have it installed) I dunno if this does anything for you. o.O

Hi,

 

Windows movie maker is in my opinion horrible (that's coming from a filmmaker).

Can I suggest you use a software like HITFILM 4 EXPRESS. It's a free VFX software wth powerful editing tools.

If you decide to use it and need some help feel free to message me :)

Hitfilm and shotcut are free alternatives.

 

i thought you could still get movie maker from windows essentials 2012 on the Microsoft website. Google "windows essentials 2012" and see if a Microsoft link comes up with things like "mail" "windows media player"

There might be something wrong with that installer as I compared it between the one I have for WLE and its a whole 53KB larger.

 

I'll attach my copy of the installer to see if it works any better...

I wouldn't touch Movie Maker with a 40-foot pole if you value quality output files. I'd recommend looking at DaVinci Resolve for a free option if you just need basic editing functions. If you need to overlay text and effects, then you'll need something like After Effects or Sony Vegas.
