Rubber Grommets

YedZed

Mounting a fan with rubber grommets rather than screws- does it reduce vibrations? Is there any benefit to it?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Yes it reduces vibrations.

So why doesn't everyone do it?

It can help a little if done correctly, and usually extra cost and material needed in terms of manufacturing.

Some people just dont care to do so unless you have a higher speed fan, for example. A delta fan or high speed fan. As W-L said it can reduce vibrations and noise as well but for fans that are lower speeds dont help due to it not being as loud or fast.

It's less secure and can come loose during transit.
