RAM Overclocking?

I am not really an expert about RAM, so I have one simple question:

Can you overclock RAM further than its recommended speed? (EX: If you have 2400MHz RAM, can you overclock to say, 2800MHz? If so, how?)

Thanks. :)

Yes.... and no, but maybe. As with all overclocking, you're not guaranteed any results, so you may get RAM that can overclock a lot or some that won't go a single MHz over its advertised speeds.

You'd do it through the BIOS. enable XMP and set the speed to what you want to try. You may need to adjust timings and voltage to help.

You can, look up a guide for your architecture

Z1/270 will be the better OCer for memory however

idk

Yes it can but it is much harder to notice RAM instability due to overclock compared to a cpu. I personally only use XMP profiles to overclock (preset)

I'm saying that I already use XMP for 2400mhz, but is it possible to increase that even though my ram is only rated for 2400MHz?
