cpu/gpu overhead with hdmi over usb c?

Elerek

So I have an Acer Alpha Switch 12 with an i5 6500u and 8 GB of ram. Obviously it's integrated graphics. Normally I can get 60 fps in league of legends just fine at mid settings on it. When I use an hdmi dongle on the usb c port to plug into my equal resolution external monitor, that drops to 30~40. Is there any known value for the effect on cpu/gpu of pushing frame data over usb instead of a connector on the (integrated) gpu?
