How do i get my CPU cooler off?

For some reason i can't screw off these screws, nothing happens when i try. Do you guys know any smart tricks for something like this?

Perhaps check behind the motherboard? Was there a special plate to install back there that's preventing it from loosening?

The threads aren't stripped so are you using a screwdriver or just your hands? If it's the latter then use a Philips screwdriver and remember the whole "righty tighty, lefty loosely" thing and you should be golden.

 

Unless you did something weird when you installed it like used loctite or something.
