(is it possible?)

S12ii on a 1080 is bit mediocre

ASUS Rog strix that I chose has way better cooling

An m.2 I chose costs less, no need of cables and have same capacity

Sorry I like to be nitpicking people and be a dick too.

I never said the M12II is better, the Strix is very expensive, and I was wrong, just assumed cause it was A data.

So you'd rather get a cool looking case just to look cool or would you get an ok case with a better performance overall?

Mind you mine still costs cheaper overall without factoring Rebate

I would get better parts and a better case, spend like 100 more.

Heheh I know I had similar hyping watching whole techquikie on the weeks before finally building something new, had been with a crappy laptop for two years, wanted to know all I could xD

In anyways you don't really need to follow any one's suggestions to the heart they are more like guidelines on what you can go for, if you have preference for another brand you can pick similar product, see some good similar deals etc... That's the beauty of mounting the desktop yourself, you can make it unique to your wish and need.

For instance, from experience with my rig I can tell the locked 7700 should've no issue feeding the 1080ti, especially if you will go like 1440p, if you don't see overclocking as a hobby you could always see this on a different approach:

If this is a game orientated rig you really don't need to worry that much with storage, get a reliable ssd for boot and a good HDD for games and good to go, really... real world performance is too close for this type of usage.
Getting a good case is nice as it can be reused if taken good care of.

am currently using a gtx980m msi gt72s laptop. tats y am thinking of a gtx1070 or gtx1080 set up. i've start picking parts as im in shanghai. getting parts i want is quite easy online. should be sticking to a non k processor so tat i could get a b series mobo. dont quite like the idea of overclocking.
