16gb ram (12gb usable) why?

I am on gigabyte 78lmt usb3 mobo. Amd installed 4 *4 gb ram. It shows 16 gb but says 12 gb usable. I tried swappingdidnt work. Why??please help

Windows uses 4 gb, but it says you have 16 gb installed so everything is okay

Nope, it says 16 gb installed but 12 usable and that is windows reserving ram i have 16 gb ram and i can only use 12 gb so nothing is wrong without pebcak

So means its not defectiv?? But when i install 12 gb it says nothing like thst. When when 16 gb is installed it shows like 12 gb usable. How can i make 4 gb usable too

Try what @Rolling Potatoesaid, check all the slots, and try moving the sticks around (might be the stick, might be the slot)

First you go to task management and then you click the performance tab, an then you select your ram and take a screenshot of that and show me so i can help you better

Whoever here has it change ur ram sticks to other slot. I did it amd now my full 16 gb is usable
