Disk Defrangmentation (need quick answer)

Villanity

I have a 1 TB (932 GB) Samsung HDD. I have been Defragmenting it since like half an hour.

Should I cancel it?

Why should I continue it?

And what is that last drive shown in the picture?

C: is stuck on 5% -------

Turns out (after 25 minutes). It's beginning to defrag. I should give my Laptop a huge cheer up. It took just like half an hour to defragment a hell lot of 1 TB HDD which is extremely filled .

ssd's should not be defeagmented

1) Read the post, it's not an SSD

2) hard drives take hours to defragment, it is a slow process

defragmenting is a process that should be done overnight, it can make accessing certain things slightly quicker if they're horribly fragmented, but usually not that big of an issue to begin with these days

Only when using what M$ calls a disc defragmenter as it always likes taking its sweet time doing things.

I'd suggest using something like auslogics disc defrag since it's a lot more clearer and doesn't take its sweet time getting things done.
