CPU doesn't turn on! Need some help

Go to solution Solved by HelloitsLuke,

Update:

My PC is now up and running. Turns out I just suck balls and the plugs weren't properly snapped into place. Thanks everyone!

Hello everyone.

So my PC just basically "died" on me yesterday. A few hours after using it moderately (2-3 hours of gaming + some hours of youtube/social media), my PC no longer posts.

Also this happened after a very short power interruption. I don't have a UPS installed but I do have an extension cord with surge protection, if that matters.

What I do know is:

1. The PC turns on

2. After turning on, it shuts down and turns on again

3. No display on both the GPU and iGPU

4. No beep sounds occurred (Iirc if it beeps, means the RAM sticks are bad)

My current conclusion: The PSU might have just given up on me (?).

Anyone else who can think of the possible reasons why it doesn't post? Would like to know your thoughts on this matter. Thank you in advance!

As far as I know, that is a low tier PSU. I think it might have internally surged and fried your motherboard.

Hmm, I guess you don't have any other hardware to trouble shoot with. Does anything have the magic smoke smell? Any signs of catastrophic failure, if no, then you'll need to validate each piece of the PC jigsaw.

Yours faithfully

Well if the mobo is fried, then nothing should power on, right?

Any POST codes or anything? Given the age of the PC, maybe just buy parts for a new one or buy one, I hope the GTX 1060 is ok.

Hope so too I did shell out my money for it :'( But it's still under warranty, which I'm not sure if it's covered.

Maybe cpu power delivery problem? Try another cpu if you can.

Don't have any spare parts lying around

OK, so your computer powers up and the fans start spinning and the lights turn on, but the usual BIOS POST beep doesn't happen...... Sounds like your computer is fried.....

Yeah well the GPU turns on too (has an LED indicator), just haven't confirmed if it's dead or not.
