It's a bit of a oldie that was upgraded it's a Athlon 64 X2 2.2ghz with 4gb of RAM, a 120gb SSD boot drive with a 1tb 7200rpm Seagate storage drive, and I installed a new PSU in it that is a 300watt Seasonic 80+ Bronze power supply. It also has a PCI Express usb 3.0 card that has a built in gigabit eathernet port on it. Also I'm kind of curious how well the noctua fan will work with the CPU cooler I have.

then get some fractal design fans, they're like half the price and good enough.

cheap and lazy way is to just may it spin faster with a reistor or plug it into the 5v rail.

The server is sitting in the closet of the room I sleep in and I'm a very light sleeper so that server has to be as quiet as a whisper

Sometime you got to pay up for something like that. Noctua would be a good investment. I don't think a larger cooler can fit in there to help.
