What PSU from that both ?

Hello Everyone, I need some help from the community. I wanted to put a new GTX 770 in the build and I was looking for a good PSU that will give me enough power for the 770 and I7 3770K 3.5 . I know 750w is sufficient for a 770 but does it have enough amps on the 12v rail?

But this is CX version. About CX:
"Heres the basic differences ....basically the CX series is for basic systems. which do not need such a high performance PSU .where as the TX series is aimed more towards the gamers that use lots of power and need higher end components used to build the PSU's

Which will be better? 

Thermaltake SP-750MPCBEU or    Corsair CP-9020061-EU   ?

 

I want only modular PSU. For TX version of Corsair i dont have so much money. So...?

 

Remember Lightning 770 is very demanding card.

The Corsair one. More reliable by brand.

But like i say its cheap CX version. How much on 12V Watts it is?

Well they both have a 62 AMP rail So I*V=P or 744 Watts.  So really they would both work I would go with Corsair one. They both have a 3 year warranty and the Corsair one is cheaper.

Any power supply with 80+ certificate should be fine. If you want some good brands which sell high quality PSUs, here we go:

Seasonic, FSP, Enermax, XFX, Corsair, Antec, Cougar, NXZT, Superflower...

Can you explain what is difference between that? Because 1 single 12V is too weak , 20A , yes? This is reason why my Lightning 770 got problems on that test?

Yea from what it looks like the stock 770 can use up to 225Watts and more so a lighting is going to use more than that (Where I got those numbers http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-770-gk104-review,3519-25.html)

With only 20A on the 12 rail you are getting ~240 Watts So if you split up the power connectors to the 770 to be on different 12V rails you should be good.

Which will be better. Thermaltake is very cheap than XFX.
But i am not too rich to buy very good quality PSU.
Somebody say:
"No, just no. Never buy anything from Thermaltake." Listen to this?

dude you can power 3 gtx 770 from your psu. that is not the reason why the pc shuts down. you have 4 20amps.thats 240W on each one.the 770 uses less than that.you can power it on a decent 500W unit. there is no way in hell that the 2 pci-e 6 pin&8pin are from the same 12V rail.you have 4x8pin pcie connectors on the psu. each one comes from another 12V rail man.if you think that the psu is the problem,play with the pcie connectors .

no it doesn`t.20A is 240W.but let me explain something.your card has 2x8pin pcie connectors. the psu has 4 x 8 pins.each pin comes from another 12V rail. so your card is powered from 2x 12V 20A+75W from pcie slot.thats 555W. that a whole system power consumption with 2 gtx 770 in sli with overclock and everything. do you understand now ? 2x 12V @20A= 40A =480W. geez thats a 1000W psu you have man.you can 3way sli 770s.lightning or whatever

The Corsair CX750M and Thermaltake Smart SP-750M are BOTH based on the PUG-B platform that is manufactured by Channel Well Tech. Since the CX is based on a cost reduction of that platform, it uses lower spec temp primary cap (85C rather than 105C), lower quality secondary cap (CapXon), and a sleeve bearing fan. The TT SP-750m uses 105C Japanese Caps (Panasonic for the primary and NCC for the secondary) and a better 2BB fan.

 

This specific TT unit isn't by any means inferior to the Corsair.

I was trying to play with connectors . And results was the same. 3dmark 13 ICE STORM is shutting down pc.

 

Maybe PSU is failing? Or its too old just ? ( 2008 year )

Corsair is the best bet in this situation.

Guys you need not to be loyal on one brand only, there are other great brands except Corsair: Seasonic, FSP, Enermax, XFX, Antec, Cougar, Tagan, NXZT, Super Flower...

one word "cheap caps".

 

Corsair are known for their cheap caps. Get PSU from Seasonic like S12ii, use bundled splitter form GPU if the PCIe connector is not enough

I guess some would willing to go with unit due solely the brand, even though, they are internally identical but one uses inferior components (the Corsair). Well whatever.

 

 

One thing. Can you stop creating multiple of threads regarding basically the same thing? It causes disorganization and previous comments on other threads are being dismissed and ignored.

 

In your other thread, you stated that your computer shutdown and restarted on it own. If your problem is an OCP (Over Current Protection) problem, the OCP will shut the entire unit off and stop supplying power to you components. It acts as a safety mechanism for cases of a component (VRM, fan, etc) that fail and shorted out. This cause the PSU to continue to keep supplying until something burns or a protection set off (in this case the OCP). It doesn't make sense for a PSU to restart. Unless you have tested all of your other components, buying a new PSU may not help.

 

Anyways, the XFX XXX Edition P1-750X-XXB9 is a solid mid-range PSU that is base on the Seasonic M12II Bronze 750w (identical to the TX750v2 but without modularity).
