Thanks for the trip down memory lane for me.My first desktop ever was that e machines 566mhz,I even gamed on it once i added a video card and better psu in it.

So the eKB-5001 keyboard arrived and woooooo is it dirty.  I think maybe the plastic isn't yellowed and it just needs a thorough scrubbing cause... Wow.

Well that's a lot nicer looking, isn't it? Though as you can see the keyboard body is a bit more yellow than the keys so they'll eventually need treatment.  Apparently Windows 10 by default doesn't allow PS2 keyboards and I had to modify a registry value to get Windows to read the keyboard.  Also the media keys didn't QUITE work probably because they predate standards.  I was able to use a tool to remap those scan codes to the proper media key functions in the registry.  Those codes didn't overlap with my Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard so the registry change didn't seem to cause new problems with the USB keyboard.  Both can apparently co-exist.

 

...Also, wow this space bar is not that pleasent in usage.

That's odd, I have a ps2 dell quietkey keyboard and it works fine with my Ryzen build on windows 10. Great seeing the progress you have made.

It maybe keyboard or mobo specific, not sure.  While the keyboard worked in the BIOS it had no effect in Windows.  

 

I had to open the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt and then change Startvalue from 0 to 1, rebooted, and the keyboard worked fine.
