1440p gaming on 4K Monitor

IAR117

Hi, I wanted a 1440p monitor for my pc- R9 Fury X I7 4790 16GB DDR3 and I found that there was a 4k IPS Freesync monitor for not much more, the-

LG 27UD58

Will I be able to play games at 1440p on this monitor, as I doubt that I will get 60 FPS on medium/ high settings at 4K.

Will it look strange or should I go for for a 1440p panel-

DELL UltraSharp U2515H

Thanks In Advance

Your much better running the games at 4k at medium than 1440 as scaling on lcd's look s like crap.

Id just run at 4k.

Would I be able to run 4K at medium or higher settings, 4x AA and get 60fps?

You don't really need aa at 4k.

You should be able to run medium at 4k in most games fine. What games?

Is 4GB HBM good enough for 4k in future though

well considering games already eat up about 5 gigs on my 1080 at 1440p, I'd say no

4K on a 27'' monitor is pointless...4K you start to see real benefits at around 35'' display or more...get a 27'' 1440p monitor (not the 25'')

it's a weaker card, but will be able to hold higher quality textures and the like

tbh, you'd be better off waiting until Vega to see if AMD can produce a nice 8 gig card to compete with the 1080 at 4K

hummm i'm not sure...4K is A LOT of pixels at 27'' the PPI is very high so i think rendering at 1440p on such a monitor would still look great i think to be honest...and it has freesync...i would go with the LG 4K if the cost is about the same.

It costs a little less. Would it be worth paying 80 pounds more for a 1070 as it has double the vram?

yeah but you would loose Freesync capabilities...
