Is this a decent deal?

Go to solution Solved by Kobathor,

For $300 that seems like a great deal. My laptop with a 6700HQ and a 960m runs BF1 at Medium settings 1080p.

My friend is going to sell me his old laptop for $300. It has an i7-4710mq, 16 gigs of ram, 120 gig ssd, 1tb hard drive and a gtx 960m. I don't really need it because I have multiple gaming computers but my laptop doesn't have a dedicated gpu. So I'm wondering is this deal good enough that I should take it anyway and just be happy with it?  Sorry I know nothing about laptop hardware.

Not an amazing laptop, but yeah if youre in need of one definitely go for it. Thats a pretty good deal.

That's the thing I'm not really in need of one. Think I would be able to resell it for $300 if it's not powerful enough?

Why don't you just borrow it from your friend for like a week and see? Kind of sneaky tbh lol.

He actually dropped it off at my house so I could use it for a while. I'm not sketched out by it I've known him for a long time he wouldn't sell me something that was broken. I'm just at work right now so I'm not able to use it. How does it seem sneaky?

I think he meant you trying to sell it would seem sneaky.  Your friend could probably get a bit more for it online, but he's giving you a pretty good deal (probably for being a friend). :)

that's literally tells us fuck all. LOL. Could be a MSI whitebook, could be a Clevo, could be another 1 of their sources. Cyberpower doesn't make laptops, they buy them and rebrand them.

Lol like I said I know nothing about laptop hardware. Would it have a label on the mobo or something?

He also said he'll do $200 if I help him out with his car so I'm definitely buying it now.
