HELP!!! HIGH CPU USAGE LEADS TO SHUTDOWN

I have installed watch dogs on my pc and its using 50% of cpu. After sometime my pc shutsdown automatically without any warning.Please HELP!!

CPU wants more volts? But that should happen with CPU at 100 percent. Maybe it is WD2? Try prime95 and see if your pc shuts off.

What are your specs and what is your PSU? Sounds like your PSU can't handle the power requirements.

 

Did you OC? You might have an unstable OC.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

What CPU, motherboard, ram, and power supply are you using? What CPU cooler? Is the CPU at really high temperatures?

MY CPU's temp is  50 C while playing the game and 43 c at idle

Reset the BIOS to default (CMOS reset) and check if it still happens.

Could be your PSU. The VS series is ok. The FX series of CPU's are very power hungry. If you have another PSU that has a similar wattage try it and see if it still continues. Also it could be the thermal paste on your cooler. Try to replace it if you can. It is quite unlikely though.

That's not what I said. Reset the BIOS using either the pins or the battery. Turn it off, unplug, take out the CMOS battery (or short the reset pins), wait 30-60sec, put it back in, turn it back on.

Then we'll go from there. Try it first.

 

If you have the GPU or CPU OCed then turn that off and test. If the BIOS reset doesn't help and your CPU is not overheating, then the most likely culprit is your PSU. It's either failing or insufficient at load.

The 4300 isn't all too powerhungry, in comparison to the monsters that are the 8xxx series and god forgid 9xxx series, being a quad core and all.
If it is the PSU I would vote its damaged or dieing, not necessarily not powerful enough for the system.

Also could be the PSU cables, make sure that they are plugged into the motherboard all the way and are seated properly. I had a similar problem with my computer shutting down randomly at medium-high loads and it turned out I didn't have the motherboard cable seated all the way into on the psu side of the cable (modular psu) and in turn the mobo wasn't getting proper voltage.

i bought the pc last year!! How can it be damaged??

I have ECO MODE selected in the BIOS

instead of STANDARD MODE and OC GENIE MODE

Eco Mode will limit the CPU usage, which is probably causing your problems.

Parts break. Maybe you had a power surge, maybe there's a defect that's just surfacing, maybe your let a cable get loose and have to reseat it. There's plenty of reasons for a PSU to fail.

okay, we're just covering all the bases man, relax. I still think my first instinct of a PSU issue is the the answer. Either way your should try the BIOS reset first. That's always the first thing to do, just try it. If the BIOS reset doesn't work I'm banking on it being your PSU and you may need to RMA it.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

Try reseating your cables.

I remember having a similar problem on a friends pc years back.  My memory is a bit fuzzy, but that particular motherboard has a really crappy VRM design and wasn't able to provide enough voltage with the CPU under intense load.  However, that was only a guess as the problem went away after we bought a new motherboard (Asus, i think).  How often are putting you cpu under a heavy load? My theory would make sense, but I sincerely doubt your CPU has never been above %50 usage prior to you playing this game.  If @pyrojoe34 theory doesn't pan out, i would research the VRM problems on your motherboard.
