Macrium clone/image issues

One of my hdd has failing reallocated sectors count, im using macrium trying to clone/image the bad hdd to a new hdd but keep getting error.

When i try to image i get an error saying "Backup aborted" Unable to read from disk, erro code 1117, The request can not be performed because of an i/o device error"
When i try to clone i get this  "clone failed , read failed 22-32"

please help

Please run a "chkdsk /f" from cmd.

The hdd is letter "H" did a error check earlier but ddint ask to restart before checking. When it was done it gave me the same error with macrium.

H: may not be an OS drive so it doesn't require a restart. Were there any errors that couldn't be fixed?

didnt read the whole summary................should i run it again? worry it would stress the hdd too much, should i also check scan and attempt to recover bad sectors option?

Even if it does stress the drive, it's better to check for the errors and correct if possible.

okay checking again now, please check back with me in a hour or two. What if check disk cant fix, am i screwed?

Just finished, no problems were found im guessing it fixed it the first time so ima try to clone again.

I would start by just making a backup of the files you need.

This hdd is where i install all my games, cloning or imaging is only way for these games to work again.

will it make a difference? Im the only one in the family uses a desktop.

well i cant since theres no sata port on laptops, are there any other good cloning softwares out there thats free?

There's AOMEI and Paragon Backup. I've found Macrium to be the easiest to use, but try those and see how it does.

imagining right now is at 8% with macrium normally it stopped at 3, lets wait and see. How do i use an image anyway? never done this

12% now with macrium imagining, finger crossed, how do restore with a image file?

An image is essentially a compressed copy of the drive. You'll have to "clean all" the drive and then reload the image back to it.

what do you mean by "clean all the drive" ? format my new hdd to prepare for load image? how do i load image into new hdd?

If this is a storage drive, why are you wasting time imaging the drive?

 

Just stop writing to the faulty drive, and do a straight drag n' drop to a healthy drive.
