Why the sleeved sata cables in Stacy?

because for some reason sharkoon's sleeved sata cables are chreaper than any non-sleeved cables :P

kde neon has been doing great on my laptop, but it just feels VERY un-handy for the server side of things, so i'm giving xubuntu a spin. i used to have a SUPER skinned down lubuntu on an old server using 200MB of ram, and i heard xubuntu can do pretty good as well.

not that i really care about ram with 32GB :D

it's kind of a personal project to make stacy look good :P

but... the seasonic prime power supply is heavy as all hell, it by itself is heavier than a stock TC-603...

W2D6 udpate:

i just wanna mention this is how necessary the upgrade from 1TB storage was:

fyi, the thing saying 493.9GB is still counting :P

Spoiler

27dad56f29.jpg

also, i decided to roll by the DIY store to look for some cables, and i decided to pick up a roll of my grandpa's tape of choice, will it be able to kick tesa off it's shallow throne? nextt time on iron chef :D

Spoiler

c3a1360ac3.jpg

i'm gonna tidy up stacy a bit more (it'd be a shame not to use seasonic prime branded velcro) and after that will be the main rig rebuild i guess :P

W2D7 lunchtime:

i've gotten stacy to detect her UPS (bad usb cable... naughty benQ...), rebuilt the whisper (main rig) and tried out the datavac. HOLY HELL THE DATAVAC :D

pictures added to the appropriate location, in terms of the datavac it was something like this :P

the week started out kinda slow, until Bpost came in the picture today.

9 FRIKKIN AM. Bpost is here with my second display :P

now lets see how long UPS takes to get my colorfabb fillament here, and how many more centuries it'll take "3Dninja" and PostNL to get my printer here :D

Btw, you can daisy chain audio to the monitors using a TRS/3.5 splitter and 2 trs/trs cables or make your own trs to trs/trs cable. Used to do that on my old monitor setup

Ah, that mildly sucks. I have to stick to analog due to me using an amp (let's just call it that) for my speakers

Oh god the loss on those cables o.O

I hit the motherlode on a Kaufland sale (iirc you have those there, right?) with dirt cheap cables. Got myself about 15 EUR worth of cables, individual price was about 0.25 EUR. Now I literally have more USB and audio cables than I would ever need <_<

Scored the cheapo 10 EUR RGB kit on the same day (same store, even). Got overhyped on cheap stuff that I forgot to buy TP (WHICH IS WHY I WENT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE).

the reason i'm using them is because all cables i can get locally just.. suck...

the cables i molested for their connectors had a resistance of 40-something ohms, now i'm back to the acceptable <1ohm my multimeter cant measure properly :P

You're using cables that I need for my aligator clips, since the original cables on them are pathetic for what I need. replaced with salvaged AWG18 so they don't melt when I'm pushing 12v 2A to power up my MiniStack o.O

Wanna trade? xD

in the middle of troubleshooting sound issues (involving reinstalling nvidia drivers because that's a default whenever pretty much anything on my system goes wrong, and i had to rid them from the horrors of my old setup as well :D)

i got presents :D

Spoiler

UPS showed up with a box labeled "colorfabb" oh what could it be? :o

and while disassembling the "setup" around my dell monitor, i got a little gift from tesa as well...

xD I'd say over half my audio setup which includes 2 recievers and 8 (used to be 13) speakers and a jumble of audio cables from my various sources to said recievers, are all using solid core copper electrical wire :P Not to mention the static is very audible at all volumes cause I haven't go around to cleaning the pots on the recievers

- PLA orange

- PLA light brown

- "glowfill" glow in the dark

- woodfill (this one's gonna be a mess)
