Looking for ways to really determine if SSD is failing

jeffhennen

I have a SSD pny xlr8 120gb that i have been using for a boot drive and that i have also been using for my most used games. I recently have been having issues with stability and slow bootup times for programs.

I switched over to my 7200 1TB HDD for my boot drive and i haven't had the same stability issues i was having like when i was using the SSD as my Primary Disk.

Am i correct to suspect that my SSD is failing in this case? Also what are some good indications that can really determine yes or no this device is failing.

Thank you guys for your help in resolving this issue ahead of time!!! You are awesome!!

Download CrystalDiskInfo, that should give you all the info you need.

A good way to check the status of a storage drive is to use a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo, which checks values reported by the drive itself. This data cannot be relied on by itself if you suspect that the drive is defective, though.
