To be extra safe plug the 4+4 pin into the very top right-most port. I would think you would be fine as they both operate on the 12V rail, however. Just be safe if you're that concerned.

Hey, I'm currently building a pc and I ran into an issue: My Rm650x doesn't differentiate eps and pci-e connectors. It has 3 8 pin ports on itself, with words above it stating "6+2pin pci-e and cpu 4+4". So which one is which?

4+4 pins should be separable on the CPU connector as two sets of 2*2 pins. The 6+2 is a 3*2 row of pins plus a 1*2 row of pins that separate.

I might've not stated my problem properly. I can differentiate the cables, but I do not know where to plug them in the psu. The psu has three identical 8 pin ports, which fit both the 4+4 CPU CABLE AND THE 6+2 pci-e cable.

Oops sorry for caps

They operate on the same rails so plug it into on of the top right ports

The 3 x 8 pin connectors on the psu housing are universal, so you can plug the eps or pci-e cables into any of them.

You would only damage things if you plugged the other end of the cable into the wrong component. i.e You somehow managed to connect the eps cable into the gpu, or the pci-e cable into the cpu socket etc.
