What CPU and Motherboard Should I upgrade to?

These are my current specs I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard, I mostly play games like BF4, arma etc. and use photoshop and video editing software. What should I get if I wanted to stay under $300?

A 1231v3 and a B85 board with 4 ram slots that's from gigabyte or other well known manufacturer.

CPU + Motherboard for less than $300 for BF4 and ARMA!?

RIP

Save until you can at least get a 4690k/6600k

Those are $220-$250 which doesn't really leave enough for a mobo.

Even then ARMA likes to devour like any CPU, BF4 is pretty strong on the CPU too.

I'd wait until you have like $350-$375

Since you use video editing software and do production stuff, an i7 would be the absolute best but that's expensive.

The 4690k/6600k are the best i5's you can buy, basically equally as good for gaming as i7's but weaker when it comes to production.

Just means rendering will take longer is all though, still an upgrade from what you have however.
