fair enough. Please just get atleast the 8gb ram version.

I will, its only 1k, slap on discounts and sales and I shouldn't be poor.

I guess its decided, Dell XPS 13 8GB with a side of prayers for sales and discounts.

I need help deciding between the Dell XPS 13 and Razer Blade Stealth

The XPS 13 is on sale as of now, cheaper than its non touch screen version at $760 USD

13.3 in Full HD (1920 x 1080) infinity display

Corning® Gorilla® Glass, machined aluminum and carbon fiber
Intel Core i5-5200U 2.20 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz

4GB DDR3L 1600 MHz
128GB SSD
Windows 8.1, 64-bit
No Optical drive
Media card reader
Waves MaxxAudio
Intel HD Graphics 5500 - 1920x1080
2 USB 3.0 • Mini DisplayPort • Headphone output/Microphone input combo
52 WHr, 4-cell (15 hours)*
Integrated webcam
802.11ac (Miracast enabled)
Bluetooth 4.0
11.98 x 7.88 x 0.33-0.60 in (304.29 x 200.15 x 8.38-15.24 mm)
2.60 lbs (1.17 kg)
Silver
TPM 2.0
Backlit keyboard
Touchscreen: NO

tfw its copy and pasted LOL

Then the Razer Blade Stealth is 1,000 USD

http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-blade-stealth

Its got a 128 GB SSD

Intel i7-6500U

8 GB Dual Channel - DDR3 1866 Mhz

Backlit Keyboard

2.75 lbs. / 1.25 kg

Then if I wanted in the future, slap the Razer Core on there.

Im thinking the Razer Blade Stealth is a much better option though, tell me what you think

I wouldn't tocuh that XPS 13 solely because you'd be stuck with only 4gb of RAM. (I also wouldn't want it because it's only 1080p)

So my vote is for the Stealth (or a different version of the XPS 13 with a higher res screen and 8gb of ram).

PSU Tier List | CoC

Gaming Build | FreeNAS Server

Spoiler

i5-4690k || Seidon 240m || GTX780 ACX || MSI Z97s SLI Plus || 8GB 2400mhz || 250GB 840 Evo || 1TB WD Blue || H440 (Black/Blue) || Windows 10 Pro || Dell P2414H & BenQ XL2411Z || Ducky Shine Mini || Logitech G502 Proteus Core

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I mean the XPS 13 is 1.4k original price, so Stealth is a better option?

Why are you comparing the old xps 13 with a new razor? Anyways, between those two the razor is better.

Lord of Helium.

If you want a laptop which won't break within a year, definitely the XPS - they are a high-end work-grade series whereas the Razer Blade Stealth is a luxury fashion statement. Unlike the Stealth, the XPS runs cool and quiet, has a more solid body, MUCH better keyboard and Dell also offer superior customer support

You need more than 4GB ram in a computer for virtually anything these days. 8 is fine, but you really want 16.

As for how good a laptop it is (build quality, etc), as for using an XPS 13 for a little bit, it is absolutely amazing, the screen is amazing, the trackpad is amazing and the keyboard is fairly OK. Can't speak for the razer.

That being said though, please do not get anything over 500 bucks with less than 8GB of ram, it's really not worth it. If I were you, I'd save up for an 8GB model of the XPS 13, because the memory is soldered on, but if that's not an option then the stealth is a no brainer with that extra ram.

The CPU is obviously better on the Razer (but not actually by a whole lot), but it it's between an 8GB xps 13 with a core i5 and an 8GB razer blade stealth with a core i7, I'd personally go for the core i5.

If I've said something wrong, please correct me

mhm I see, and I prob will be using the laptop for man than 10 hrs, and the Stealth supposedly has like a 5-7 hr battery, and XPS 13 has 15 or so, considering Ill be in a school for about 8-9 hrs a day then Dell XPS seems to be the better option, with what don_svetlio said, not sure if I will be able to afford 8 GB for XPS doe

The XPS most definitely has better battery life and thermals - the Stealth runs above 90*C at medium-high loads whereas the XPS doesn't break 80*C

A guy on the Razer forums asked if that was an issue and the all-knowing mods told him a 15W CPU ran hot rather than admit the engineering on the Blade is bloody terrible

Yeah, I'd avoid Razer as a whole (btw - I own a few of their products (mainly mice) - not worth the money)

I have the Vespula and Taipan, Its meh nothing special, but I kinda like it, i have a logitech g105 kb and a headset, I made a mistake on the kb, I didnt realize it has G Buttons, it gets in the way all the time, I had to adjust to the kb size because I'd be one key over due to the different size, for some reason it also performs F functions when I turn it off, not sure how but I gotta fix that, then theres the headset, its also kinda nice, but the mic sucks for some reason.

My PC sucks in general though, and then Ill prob be paying the the XPS 13

Currently using a Taipan - it's been in use for less than 3 years and it's already starting to show signs of issues with the sensor. It cost me 100$. My previous Canyon mouse which I got for 10$ lasted over 5 years.

Mine has been for 2-3 years, so about the same, but my sensor seems to be fine, its just the pads on the bottom that sucks. But wow 10 dollar 5 years xD

ThinkPads are the highest end work-grade laptop available. T430 has the best membrane keyboard on the market - like, the next step above it is a mechanical keyboard.
