Canadian Gaming and Programming build

Clanscorpia

Hello, after lots of confusion on myself with the build plan I decided to start over. My budget is $2000 Canadian and as you can see from the title its for gaming and programming. I play Arma 3, Space Engineers, Simulators, MMO's, CS:GO, RTS, and Indies. I program C#, C++ in VS 2015, Java in NetBeans, and HTML5, JS, and CSS in VS Code. My requirements for this build are the Black and Blue H440 and black and blue themed parts or parts that are easily plasti dipped (Mobo heatsinks for example). I dont know what to do so I'm leaving this up to you guys. Thanks!

Not anytime soon. I just got a g402 and I'm getting a K70 soon and hopefully a Dell Ultrasharp as well. So not in this build. Same with Windows

The computer I recently built is working very well: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Q3D8pg

Replace the 970 with a 980 and it'll be very powerful.

Easily handle any coding, and even very demanding games as well.

If you plan to OC then upgrade the CPU cooler as well

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

40" 4k displays are going to be your best friend, accept no substitutes

otherwise, 5820K + 390 won't be too bad, focus is on the CPU rather than the GPU, you could either get an SSD or more RAM

or get a Xeon 1231v3 with the 40" 4k displays for unmatched productivity

It ended up being like $1989 CAD, so its at the upper end of your budget, and you'd probably want to buy a wifi adapter and some case fans. Stuff is pretty expensive in Canada. :D

*NOTE* I am not an expert on motherboards unfortunately so I simply picked a blue Z97 board with high reviews. It is expandable to 32 gigs of RAM, but I chose 4 sticks of 4GB for a total of 16 due to price.

Upon further review it probably isn't worth the extra $300 for the GTX 980 over the r9 390.

Get a 5820k build if you do a fair amount of programming. It rips through compiling when parallel builds are enabled in Visual Studio.

CPU: Intel i7 - 5820k @ 4.5GHz, Cooler: Corsair H80i, Motherboard: MSI X99S Gaming 7, RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16,

GPU: ASUS GTX 980 Strix, Case: Corsair 900D, PSU: Corsair AX860i 860W, Keyboard: Logitech G19, Mouse: Corsair M95, Storage: Intel 730 Series 480GB SSD, WD 1.5TB Black

Display: BenQ XL2730Z 2560x1440 144Hz
