Dual monitor setup locks 144Hz monitor at 60Hz

Hunter_

So I have been using the Asus VG248QE For awhile at 144hz and everything has been fine. Yesterday I hooked up a second monitor and while I have both monitors plug in my Asus 144hz one gets locked at 60. However when I unplug the 60hz monitor it goes back to 144hz.

Im using Windows 10, 144hz monitor is hooked up with dvi cable, 60hz second monitor is hook up with hdmi cable.

Hey, I have the exact same monitor and I also am paired with a 60Hz paired as well. You need to right click on the desktop of the 144hz monitor, and click display settings, then go into advanced display settings, then display adapter properties, monitor, and then choose 144hz. Make sure when you first right clicked, that you identify which monitor is which and make sure the 144hz is selected. If you need more help, feel free to respond, at school right now so I can help as much as i can

DeadEye is correct, it doesn't do over 60Hz by default, you have to tell Windows to use the higher refresh rates ;)

Its set to 144hz but when I plug in my other monitor it locks to 60hz. Even though its says its at 144hz.

Did you set your 144hz monitor as your "Main Display"?

Run www.testufo.com to verify your screen refresh rates. Just move the browser window to the screen for it to pickup and test.

It should report the refresh rate.
