Intel 750 series SSD

I was watching a Newegg video about this SSD and the Intel guy said this card had 18 channels. I'm a little fuzzy on MB architecture Does anyone know if those 18 channels equals 18 PCIe lanes? I'm running an SLI config now using 32 PCIe lanes. Will I have to bail on the SLI set-up if I go with this card as my only boot and storage drive?

no it cannot use 18 PCIe lanes, there isnt even an 18x PCIe connector lol

750 series uses 4 pci-e 3.0 lanes

16 lanes per gpu in this case=32 lanes

32+4=36 you have more then enough, since gpus can also run at 8 lanes per gpu

The SSD has controller/chip that can manage 18 channels of the flash at once. That's what it meant.

 

You only require a PCIe of x4 (or greater) in order for the Intel 750 to work.
