uTorrent blocked by Chrome now?

LokiFire
Go to solution Solved by wyattzx,
  1. Use qBittorrent instead.
  2. Chrome has blocked the download for uTorrent for a long time now.

If this is against piracy well some of us have legitimate usage for it as i cannot rip certain game discs like my Dreamcast GDI's.. it's impossible without the correct kit or a Dreamcast Dev kit which is incredibly rare and expensive.

My Sega Saturn has stopped working but luckily i can rip those, my Dreamcast had a pot tweak done as it could not read games properly so it's only getting older and i am using emulators more and more, WTF?

Don't use uTorrent.

Use another torrent client , like Deluge.

Last time I installed uTorrent it was full of ads and malware, IIRC.

Chrome probably just blocked it because it was flagged as a security risk to the user.

Well, I always paid attention during installation process and I've never experienced any malware within the program itself, but still I'm thinking about switching myself.

However if it's only ads that disturb you, you can turn them off through this site Pimp my uTorrent.

As to why it's blocked in Chrome, yeah probably thanks to its history with malware...

uTorrent was installing a bitcoin miner, maybe that's why they are blocking it.
