Natively it doensn't support it, there was an upgrade kit to allow it but it has been discontinued.

It's been discontinued so you can't purchase it anymore, or do you mean the site where this was stated?

Don't even bother.

The kit was only valuable because there were no other gsync units available.  It was a test unit and Nvidia and Asus had a partnership to use the VG248 as their testbed.  The demo test units didn't even have any sort of OSD adjustments at all.

The 'retail' Gsync units are not worth even buying anyway.  The OSD adjustments are extremely limited, the ULMB mode has worse crosstalk and worse overdrive ghosting than Lightboost mode (but it doesn't have the infamous purple tint) and the image adjustments in the OSD are very, very limited.  It doesn't even use the Asus electronics so even the Tracefree settings (which the Asus was known for) are gone.  You're better off buying a 24" Gsync TN panel than one of these, even the Acer XB240H will have far more features (and I think the service menu code that was posted for the XB270HU/XB271hu on overclock.net should work on it also).
