So where do I start when looking at headphones

So I'm starting to look at over ear headphones but I don't really know anything about them. I'd like something for listening to music when I'm at work and doing some light gaming at home (don't need a mic but not bad if it has one). It would be cool if they could be wireless and also have a cord for unsupported devices.

 

My parents were looking at getting me these for Christmas but I have no idea if they're good or not or if there would be something better in this price range.
