In honour of this weekends Blancpain GT3 sprint race at Misano, I decided to give it a shot in assetto corsa. Misano is a massively fun track; lots of slow, twisty corners and blistering fast sweepers.

Totally worth pulling an all nighter to finish up this game (mostly). Pleasantly surprised with the track selection and the variety of bikes and classes, though it does get stale after a while. Loving all the high power stuff - plenty of fun rides from 600cc - 1300cc, arguably more fun than the full 1000cc Pro bikes. Was amazed that they included electric bikes too - surprisingly quick too, with acceleration rivaling that of a 1000cc street bike.

Maybe its the lack of sleep but the Porsche looks to have a much stiffer ride around Misano. Regardless there is amazing grip as usual and balance through the fast 2s and 4s is great. 1:41 is an improvement over the AMG GT3 time.

The Blancpain race is later today, streamed on YT.

Yesterday, PRD and RSR took part in a multi-class crossover event. 2 hours at Bathurst with GT3 and BMW 1M Stanceworks.

A total of 45 drivers took part, split into 2 lobbies. A 30 minute qualifying session took place, followed by the 59+1 lap main event. It was quite the challenge, to say the least. Staying off the wall and staying out of trouble played a key role in finishing well. Final results will be combined between both lobbies. So while I did finish 3rd in the 1M class in our lobby (Woot! :D), I doubt that will my true finishing position. Don't really care though, it was an absolute blast running hard for 2 hours, trying to keep these wild 1M's in line with GT3's breathing down out necks. :D

To my surprise, the straight line speed of the GT3's were not all that much faster. In fact the 1M's were actually quicker on the straights than the Z4's. :P RSR has a very similar and strict rule set with regards to starting procedures and racing conduct, so it was a very authentic experience racing with those guys. They even use a safety car, which was pretty cool.

Both lobbies were broadcasted live on YT during the event. The recording of Lobby 2, (which I ran in), is archived in the video below. The race starts at at 29 mins.
