Oh my...

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/wip-circuit-mont-tremblant.14185/

@MEC-777 somebody is working on one of the best road courses in Eastern Canada!! Mont Tremblant, a circuit redesigned by Alan Wilson (who also penned Calabogie Motorsports Park) and brought to fame by Lawrence Stroll's funding.

Loving the layout and for something released earlier this month, I'm really impressed with the quality. Like Mosport, Mont Tremblant follows the natural topography of the landscape, curving its way through the forest with significant elevation change at every part of the lap. Beautiful flow, and very high speed with very tricky low speed corners.

For a WIP, it's definitely worth checking out. Mind you, just dont go off the track surface too much because the curbs will send you flying and theres no grip at all on the grass (unless you want to become a hockey puck).

As expected, I took a GT3 Cup around for a spin with my controller. Lots of time left on the table but I feel with a wheel, I can comfortably do 1:20s.

Unfortunately GT3CAN doesnt go to Tremblant, instead going to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and GP3R so there is no direct comparison. But even comparing the track against a FRS you can see how accurate it is.

Man the JT5 car requires more concentration to drive than an LMP1 car, and it is quite literally impossible with a controller.

On the other hand, after so much seat time in the GT3 Cup I'm starting to love the GT3R. Finally learning how to turn on the front tires and its quite enjoyable to hoon around, albeit only a few seconds faster than the Cup around most tracks. Plus somebody made a livery for my favourite GT3R in competition this year - the #28 Alegra Motorsports car, totally not biased because they are good people and based a few hours away from me.

Still struggling to find a good copy of mosport. Unfortunately there are only two good copies still available for AC and while both are fairly good, they are pretty poor in 5A and 5B. The entry is incredibly difficult to get braking right, and because theres no run-off like at the real track, 5A shoots you off into the gravel unless you slow right down. Instead of a dip at 5B its a crest which shoots you past the exit due to the understeer. Then when you do get 5B right, it's incredibly bumpy and any amount of throttle will send you spinning.

The rest of the turns are pretty good though. Turns 2 and 4 have slightly different grip levels, and 8-9-10 complex is slightly faster on one. Easily managing 1:18s in the GT3-R and 1:20 in the GT3 Cup on a good lap otherwise.

Never actually used this interior replay view before. Gives a very go-pro feel to it, though some dash functions are disabled or inaccurate in replays unfortunately.

Assetto Corsa v1.13 Update Later Today

Quote

(provisional) changelog for Assetto Corsa 1.13. Post will be updated.
New Porsche 911 RSR 2017 for Porsche Pack 3
New Mazda MX-5 Miata NA
New Mazda 787B: mod skins made for the original 787B mod will need to be updated using the new template

Added OpenVR/Vive support (beta)
Fixed Mazda MX-5 ND setup ride height false indication
Fixed Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV gearbox damage
Adjusted Lotus 72D and Ferrari 312T tyre compound wear and heat ranges
Fixed Flag rendering for VR
Fixed colour balance for emissive items (lights+digital) when Post Processing is turned off
Added downshift protection alert (can be disabled through the launcher options)
All GT2/GTE cars default to Medium tyres now (also for AI)
Fixed broken rendering when OCULUS mode is selected but no Oculus is actually connected
Added Pitstop arrows to DirectInput Dpad: bind to the wheel dPad: can be overidden by controls.ini [ADVANCED]DPAD_INDEX_OVERRIDE=0
Added Pitstop quickmenu + Setup pitstop strategy: this can be custumized and disabled by system/cfg/pitstop.ini [SETTINGS]USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=0
Updated Fanatec library to support new wheel bases.
Fixed possible CPU warning when player gets retired.
Multiplayer features:
Added reversed grid races: the race session will be restarted in reversed grid order based on the standings of the previous race. Players disqualified in the first race will start from the back of the grid in the second race, regardless of their position being within the reversed grid range.
Added locked entry list in pickup mode: same as in booking mode, only players already included in the entry list can join the server (password not needed).
Added car Steam ID sharing in entry list: each car in the entry list can feature multiple GUIDs. Players can share that car (one at once). The name inserted in the entry list is used as driver name.
Fixed server result log not displaying invalid laps.
Fixed end-of-race session status for lapped players in lap races.
Added Mandatory Pit: a pit window can be added to the race session. As a design choice, players need to stop at their pit box within the pit window to have a valid pit stop. Players with pit boxes further down the pitlane need to take this into account before deciding on their strategy. Players may make additional pit stops before and after the pit window, but only making a mandatory stop in the indicated pit window will validate their race. Server admins must decide on a pit window that allows all players, regardless of their pit box position, to comfortably make a pit stop under normal racing conditions.
Updated Shared Memory

I will be hooning the RSR later tonight, probably.

All details for this event can be found here: https://pantheracingdivision.com/forum/project-cars/4249-prd-rsr-crossover-endurance-events

You'll have to make an account and introduce yourself. :) We're testing tonight at around 9pm if you want to jump on. You'll need teamspeak and we'll help you get all that set up. I assume you have a mic and or headset? Live communication is a must.

You don't have to be "the fastest" but as long as you can race clean in a pack, then you'll be fine. ;)  You can also join us for the next season in GT3 if you want. We're always looking for more people to join.

Y'all knew this was coming.

I love this one too. Possibly more than the GT3R because of just how well it drives. Granted, I am on a controller still so I can't exploit the chassis dynamics to the fullest but still... it's amazing.

Contrasting between the RSR and the R - theres just so much more aero grip. Mechanical grip feels nearly the same, though the RSR is more relentless in spinning the rear wheels. The gearing is pretty well matched to the car and it reaches the top of 6th fairly quickly, though you dont feel like you're going too quickly. The brakes are amazing - very linear travel and it takes a lot to lock them up; when you do, the steering is responsive enough to get a good idea of what the front axle is up to. Early impressions are overall extremely positive.

Minus the sound. It's nearly there, but not quite perfect. The GT3R leads the trio with respect to the sound with the Cup a close second. The RSR just doesnt have the high end of the rev range yet.

A few quick installation laps at some high speed north american tracks, minus CTMP because we need variety around here!

Daytona: this was a given. This mod has a slightly quicker tracks surface, as obviously a GTLM can't do the pace of a Prototype but the car handles very well. Brake zones are handled like a champ with minimal lock up and the corner exit traction is immense. Plenty of power on the banking to reach vmax and great grip in the corners thanks to the aero.

COTA: another given, but to test the low-speed nature of the chassis. Slightly twitchy because of my inexperience with this throttle, but the engine is very responsive. Be mindful of oversteer in first and second, with push in third and fourth gear corners. Again, great drags down the straight and through some high speed bends but the speed is deceptive at times and you have to watch your speed with the really tight hairpins, even with the incredible breaks.

Mexico: fine weather down here. A continuation of the COTA test with similar low-mid speed corners, though this was more for testing external audio. Great feedback on corner entry and traction on exit is immense. Patience will reward you greatly with this car.

@MEC-777 @bcredeur97

Turns out the NA miata can do the entire lap of Mosport in only 3rd and 4th, nearly. It doesnt have enough power to make it up the Andretti Straight tho LOL.

Oh, and the 787B kicks HARD but it sounds so GOOD.
